Brilliant teacher - the sort that had faith in those others had given up on. Genuinely inspirational, he can rest at ease in the knowledge that his time on earth was well spent.

My sincere sympathies to Mr Shorrocks family. A fantastic & funny teacher, who made learning fun for his pupils.

I am so sad to hear of Alec's passing away. He was a great guy in every sense, popular with pupils and staff alike at KHS and a very fine teacher. We shared many experiences together over those twenty years and I recall how much he enjoyed compering the "Uncle Henry" concerts using his great sense of humour and reference to the comedians he so loved. He will be sadly missed by so many people he influenced in his lifetime. At present I am in France on holiday so will unfortunately be unable to attend his funeral, but our thoughts and condolences are with all his family at this time.
