AN Alderley Edge event which offered both Italian food and music proved a sparkling success.

The event, which was held at The Yard, attracted 38 diners and five children who made their own delectable pizzas from 6pm to 11pm.

It was organised by husband and wife team Niki Charnock and Venetian husband and chef Paulo Pop.

Niki said: "In keeping with my husband's surname, the 'Pop' Up, went really well and we got some great feedback about the food with some commenting was there was just far too much food on offer!

"The grazing over a four course meal takes a bit of getting used to but equally the live music got a warm welcome.

"It's was a truly Venetian style menu my husband is from Venice and our other chefs are Italian.

"The evening started with prosecco on arrival and some Chichetti style dishes (small plates) to share amongst each table of smoked cheese and salami breads, bruschetta, caprese salad skewers, lamb and pork meat balls, assortment of cured meats and cheeses and a raw pesto courgetti spaghetti salad.

She adds: "We are planning another event this Friday at The Yard when the menu changes to showcase the wide variety of truly Italian foods on offer."
