Four couples will battle it out to be crowned the winners of Love Island in Monday night’s final.

The popular ITV2 programme, which has frequently drawn in about two million viewers per episode during its seven-week run, will culminate with the reveal of the most popular couple as voted for by the public for a £50,000 prize.

Caroline Flack will present the extended programme, which will air for one hour and 35 minutes from 9pm.

In the running are Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies, Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt, Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood and Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville.

Cetinay and Davies, whose relationship has been smooth-sailing in recent weeks after a rocky start, are the favourites to win, with bookmakers offering odds of 6-4 for them taking the crown.

Second in the running are Thurlow and Jewitt, the newest couple, with Hughes and Attwood in third place according to the bookmakers’ odds, and Allen and Somerville the outsiders.

Narrowly missing out on a place in the final were Montana Brown and Alex Beattie, who were dumped from the island in Sunday-night’s show, the penultimate episode of the series.

The programme saw singletons move into the idyllic lock-up for weeks, away from their normal lives, in an attempt to make a connection and find love with one other person.

Viewers have already started to mourn the end of the programme, which airs six nights a week, ahead of the final episode.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Don’t think I’m mentally ready to not see kem on my tv every night after love island finishes #LoveIsland.”

One said they were going to “be in bits” when the series ends while another said: “Gutted that Love Island finishes this week man don’t have a clue what to do with myself.”

Love Island airs on Monday at 9pm on ITV2.
