WILMSLOW High School's under 18 rugby players came up short this afternoon after being narrowly defeated by Whitgift School in the quarter finals of a national competition.
The team faced the South Croydon team from Whitgift School in the Under 18 NatWest Schools Cup quarter-final for the right to go through to the semi-final.
Wilmslow won the right to play after defeating the West Yorkshire based Woodhouse Grove 29-5.
But after a tight contest, Wilmslow lost out 10-7, scoring a try and conversion in the final minute.
