THE Wilmslow Green Room is proud to be opening its 2016/2017 season with American playwright, Arthur Miller’s, The Price, one of his most successful Broadway dramatic plays and one which explores one of his favourite themes – family relationships.

The Price is a scintillating and moving play which was first performed in 1968.

It is a piece about family dynamics, the price of furniture and the cost of one's decisions during life’s journey.

Years after an angry breakup, Victor and Walter Franz are forcibly reunited by the death of their father.

As they sort through his possessions in an old brownstone attic, the memories evoked by his belongings stir up old hostilities.

This play explores the humanity of the two brothers who both come from different moral dilemmas.

What each wants is to reclaim opportunities lost to time and to shake off the regret and guilt that they both harbour, an impossible task of course.

So in the face of this, they rage at each other to avoid the crushing reality of life’s harsh truths.

Directed by Mark Jephcott, the play runs from October 8 to 15.

The Green Room Box Office is now open and tickets can be reserved on 01625 540933 or booked via the Green Room website at wgrsoc.org.uk.
