WILMSLOW’S streets were transformed at the weekend as the town’s annual motor show returned.

Motor-lovers from across Cheshire and further afield came down to see some of the fastest and finest cars, bikes and boats on display.

Stalls lined up throughout the town, where businesses attracted considerable interest from locals and visitors alike.

Dozens of the world’s most exclusive motors travelled along Alderley Road to entertain the crowds in the parade, while the Sporting Bears raised £2,000 for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust in exchange for rides in a range of supercars.

Steve Kennedy, who launched the event, was pleased to reveal this year’s show was bigger than ever before.

“We’ve spoken to the police, and there were 35,000 visitors to the event this year, which is absolutely fantastic,” he said.

“It went really, really well. Massive thanks must go to Wilmslow Town Council, Cheshire East Council and Cheshire Police for helping to make it all happen.

“Huge thanks must also go to all the visitors and the car dealers who came out for the event.

“Retailers were also very busy, and I just think it was excellent how such a small team could transform the town for the day.”

Businesses were also big winners during the day, with local car showrooms among the host of firms holding stalls across the town centre.

Mark Woore, of HR Owen Maserati, Stockport, said: “So far we’ve had a huge amount of interest, we’ve captured a lot of data, a lot of test drives, and it’s been very popular.

“We’ve represented the Wilmslow Motor Show a couple of times before with one of our other brands, but this is the first time with Maserati, and the response has been superb.”
