THOUSANDS of visitors hit the town’s streets on Saturday, September 24, as the Wilmslow Motor Show returned for its fourth year.

Petrolheads came to the town from far and wide to see supercars, classic motors and a host of luxury bikes and boats.

Dave Lonsdale came up to the show with Leslie, his wife, and Simon, his son, who all had a keen eye on a “stunning” red Ferrari in Alderley Road.

“We’re from Stoke-on-Trent, and we got up at 6.45 this morning to be here,” he said.

“I only heard about it from my son this past week, and I’m looking forward to seeing all the cars.”

Simon added: “The day’s been very good so far, but I’m looking forward to a pint later!”

Roy and Madge Mitchison also came up to Wilmslow from Stoke-on-Trent for their first motor show.

Roy said: “We’ve come to Wilmslow especially for this today, and we’d definitely come again.

“All of the cars have caught our eye, they’re absolutely stunning.”

Many of the visitors on the day lived locally, and felt the show was getting bigger and better each year.

David and Michelle Wilde had been to every motor show since it began.

“We live just round the corner and we like sports cars, we like fast cars, we like luxurious cars,” David said.

“Last year the rain was horrendous, but this year the sun is shining!”

Michelle added: “The parade is great when all the cars come down the road, with all the noise of the engines, it’s brilliant.”

Tim Teale brought his sons Vincent, 7, and Cormack, 3, to the show.

“They love it, they love all the noise,” he said.

“I’ve been involved in the event on a couple of occasions. It’s a fantastic event, the weather’s stayed dry, and there’s been a nice mix of cars.”

Barry and Karen Wells, from Wilmslow, also enjoyed the event – although they felt the supercar parade could have been better organised.

“I think the traffic management needs sorting out, they should stop the cars coming onto the road. It’s chaos for the people actually driving, and for the spectators,” Barry said.

“But it’s been great, it’s the second time we’ve come. Have any of the cars taken our eye? All the ones we can’t afford!”
