A WILMSLOW-BASED software engineering firm has been awarded a prestigious prize for its services.

Mobica, in Manchester Road, was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise on Thursday, September 22, by David Briggs, the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire.

The company were awarded the title earlier this year to celebrate its achievements overseas, with international business accounting for 69 per cent of the company’s turnover.

The award is in its 50th year, and the winner is chosen by both the Prime Minister and the Queen.

Mobica, which provides software development, testing and consultancy services to technology companies, has offices in Poland, the United States and Mexico for customers in around 40 countries worldwide.

Nick Stammers, founder of Mobica, said: “This is probably the most prestigious award we’ve ever won.

“It is very gratifying to have your company honoured by both the PM and the Queen, and our staff are thrilled that their hard work is getting the recognition it deserves.”

The award adds to Mobica’s impressive collection of accolades, including the London Stock Exchange’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2015, and the AI Sector Performance Award’s Best UK Software Company 2015.
