CHESHIRE Police is warning residents to be vigilant following three Wilmslow burglaries in the space of a week.

A property was broken into in Maplewood Road on Saturday, October 8, where a hook and cane were used to take keys from near to the front door.

The offender removed the keys through the letterbox before leaving the scene in the stolen vehicle.

Another property was burgled in Hollybank Road on Wednesday, October 12, where there was no sign of forced entry but a substantial amount of cash was removed from the site.

The third burglary occurred in Altrincham Road, where a frosted glass window was smashed and the keys to a vehicle were taken.

The offenders left the scene in the vehicle towards the airport tunnels, and the vehicle has not yet been located.

PCSO Emma Darroch said: “Please do not leave your house or car keys within reach of a door or visible from either a window or a door.

“Please keep them away from prying eyes and make sure that all doors and windows are locked so to prevent opportunistic burglaries.”
