THE opening of Wilmslow’s refurbished Post Office and Tesco Express has been delayed by one week to Tuesday, November 1.

Renovators have been removing asbestos from the Alderley Road site and giving the Tesco a facelift, while the Post Office is being ‘modernised’, with five screened serving positions.

The store’s opening has now been put back due to the amount of asbestos in the building being more than first thought.

Work has been ongoing at the site since Saturday, October 1, with the store originally planned for launch on Tuesday, October 25.

Residents can find their nearest Post Office in Handforth, at 118 Wilmslow Road, or in Alderley Edge, at 12 West Street.
