CHILDREN at Bright Horizons Summerfields Day Nursery and Preschool in Wilmslow have celebrated National Storytelling Week by indulging in some of their favourite books.
The children were encouraged to bring in their favourite book from home which they then shared with the rest of their friends at the nursery.
The initiative was also used by staff to continue Bright Horizons’ Growing Readers enhancement.
“Each room has had a book that they have been focusing on this week and because of this, the children have begun to be able to fill in the missing words at certain points in the story,” said Laura Brown, nursery manager.
The Growing Readers enhancement emphasises the importance of reading aloud and aims to cultivate a love of books within a child.
