CHARITY supporters have offered their heartfelt thanks to people who attended a Valentine’s Day fundraiser.

The Wilmslow branch of the British Heart Foundation marked Valentine’s Day with its annual coffee morning.

The branch combined with Healthy Hearts, the Wilmslow fundraising group, to arrange this year’s event, which was held in the Wilmslow Park home of Brian and Ann Stanford-Smith.

More than 50 people attended to enjoy coffee or tea and indulge in a selection of cakes and biscuits, with a variety of pastries baked by the branch’s many helpers, and the event raised just over £400 for the BHF.

People attending took part in a Valentine’s Day quiz and a puzzle story brainteaser, and a raffle included more than 20 prizes.

This year the event was supported by the Yorkshire Building Society, with two staff from the Wilmslow branch attending to help with serving.

For the third year running, Coffee Compass provided Columbian Coffee and sent 300 Belgian biscuits.

Brian Critchley, branch treasurer, thanked the hosts and everyone who had contributed to the success of the morning, especially the Yorkshire Building Society for its support.

The next social events are a visit to BBC Media City in March and a wine tasting in April.
