A WEBSITE design company is looking to keep up its solid track record of bringing people into employment through apprenticeships.

Website Store, in Water Lane, has already taken several young people since it launched in 2014, who have all learned a host of digital skills while earning a wage.

Eight of the firm’s 12 current employees are former apprentices, while the other four are still completing their apprenticeships at the firm.

Emily Smith, from Website Store, told the Guardian that it is looking to take on another ‘two or three’ now, before helping even more people into employment in the near future.

“We are trying to get the word out about the apprenticeships and how they can help people,” she said.

“Our apprentices learn skills like search engine optimisation, which are really good to have, but aren’t really being taught in colleges.

“Since I’ve worked here none of our apprentices have left the company, and we are a close-knit team.

“The apprenticeships are open to anyone, old or young, but they are more popular with school leavers.”

The office itself features games and a pool table, as the firm offers workers the chance to take a break while they work and learn.

Website Store recruits apprentices at several points throughout the year, and is currently welcoming applicants.
