ANIMAL lovers turned out in force to enjoy fun in the sun and raise money for a good cause.

The Wilmslow Animal Sanctuary raised £2,000 during its annual fun day on June 18 to go towards helping all the animals in its care.

A wide variety of children’s games and activities were set up throughout the day, including crafts and chocolate tombolas.

Nicola Foster, from the sanctuary, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that came along to support us to make the day a success.

“A lovely day was had by all and all the hard work certainly paid off.”

Former resident ferrets, Spike and Floyd, made a guest appearance with 10 other ferrets known as ‘The Squeasels’.

Nicola added: “They came along to show off and allow people to find out more about them.

"They certainly had fun playing in the area especially for them.”

The money raised will go directly towards helping all the animals who come through their doors, such as providing vaccinations, neutering, worming, flea treatment, microchipping and veterinary care.
