TATTON’S new MP, Esther McVey, cut a ribbon to officially open the new clubhouse at Croftside Tennis Club.

A club spokesman said: “It was a great celebration, with club members and local residents in attendance to mark the occasion.

“Croftside Tennis Club was established in the 1930s. Its original pavilion, while full of character, was no longer fit for purpose or able to meet the growing needs of the club.

“With funding from Sport England and the Lottery a new clubhouse has been built.

“With the new facility and three artificial courts, the club is going from strength to strength with three men’s teams, two ladies’ teams and 12 junior teams all competing in local leagues.”

The club offers competitive and social tennis for all standards and ages, and people can visit croftsidetennis.co.uk
