WENTWORTH Dental Practice in Alderley Road has been given high praise following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The report, compiled by a CQC inspector and a specialist dental advisor, stated that 28 people had been surveyed regarding the services on offer, with patients describing their care as 'first-class'.

The report on the services provided was split into five key areas including ‘safety’ and ‘effectiveness’ with 'no action' required in any category.

The CQC report said: “We found that this practice was providing safe care in accordance with the relevant regulations.

“(It) had an appointment system in place which took account of patient’s needs. Staff told us that patients requiring urgent appointments were seen the same day.

“We saw that the dentists tailored appointment lengths to patient’s individual needs and patients could choose from morning and afternoon appointments.”

The report also praised the reaction to patient suggestions.

It added: “We saw that the provider acted on patient feedback. For example, patients had requested books and toys for children, and these had been provided in response.”

The key findings were that the practice was 'clean and well-maintained', had 'appropriate safeguarding processes in place' and that the care on offer fell 'in line with current guidelines' and takes 'patient’s needs into account'.

The report listed a few areas for improvement, centred mainly around 'the recording, investigating and reviewing of incidents and significant events with a view to preventing further occurrences', but found no serious concerns, praising the practice overall.
