LUNCHEON club organiser Josephine Bowers is seeking more volunteers to help her run the popular club.

The Royal Voluntary Service club has been running at Honford Hall in South Acre Drive, Handforth, since 1976.

Josephine, 76, from Wilmslow, has run the club since 1992, and although she has a team of 14 volunteers she needs more to help to prepare the meals, serve and clean up afterwards.

The club is held every Wednesday during term time, from midday, and is aimed at the over-60s. It costs £3 for a main course, sweet and tea or coffee.

"Preparation starts at 9am, the meal is served at noon, and dishes are cleared at 1.30pm," said Josephine.

"No cooking skills are required, just a sense of humour, common sense and an ability to work as a member of a team.

"Five volunteers are needed to at 9am to prepare the meal and an additional volunteer at noon to help serve and clear.

"If you are interested please contact me on 01625 524324. If I am not available please leave your name and telephone number and I will get back to you."

Anyone who would like to take part in the meal please contact Avril Lethbridge on 01625 520815.
