WILMSLOW Animal Sanctuary is seeking a ‘forever home’ for Baxter, who has been at the charity since April.

“Baxter is a fabulous black neutered cat of around three years,” said animal sanctuary manager Sarah Diggle.

“He has been with us since the end of April and he is desperate for a new home and family to call his own.

“Baxter is a fit and active boy who would love to find himself a home as an only cat where he can play or relax as he sees fit.

“He is very easy going, but there are times when he prefers not to be picked up, although we suspect this is to do with him being confined inside when he would love to be outside, free and in a settled home environment.

“If you feel you could offer Baxter a forever home we would love to hear from you.

“The cats in our care may have been found as a stray, their owner may have passed away, there has been a change in family circumstances or they may simply have been abandoned.

“Each cat is assessed when they come to the sanctuary and we learn about their personality and what sort of home, lifestyle and environment would suit them best.

“Animals that are adopted from a rescue environment need lots of patience, care and love to help them settle successfully into a new home.

“We aim to carefully match animals to potential new owners, and to provide as much information as possible about their background and behaviour to maximise the chance of a successful adoption.

“At the sanctuary we have lots of cats waiting for their forever home.

“As with many rescues we aim to match cats and potential adopters to the best of our ability.

“In order to do this we inquire about your location, type of home, work arrangements, and to discuss any thoughts you have on what type of cat may suit you.

“We encourage you to meet and spend time with some of the suitable cats and if you would like to adopt we ask you to fill out a reservation form.

"We then arrange a home visit with one of our experienced home checkers who will visit your house to see where the cat will be living and to check it is a safe location.

“They will also offer any advice if needed at this stage or answer any questions you may have. After a successful home visit the cat will receive a final vet check before leaving.

“All cats going on to new homes are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

“They will have already received worm and flea treatment. For this there is an adoption fee which contributes but rarely covers all the costs the cat may have received whilst in our care.

"Your new cat will also receive four weeks free Pet Plan insurance cover.

“If you feel you may be the right person to offer Baxter a forever home or you’re interested in any other of our cats please call 01625 520 802 to speak to us.

“Details of our animals available for adoption can also be found on our Facebook page and our website heswilmslow.co.uk.”
