AWARD-winning prisoner rehabilitation initiative The Clink Charity has partnered with ITV Be’s The Only Way is Essex star and owner of Lockie’s Kitchen, James Lock, for another ‘Lunch with Lockie’ event on Friday, September 29.

Taking place at The Clink Restaurant at HMP Styal in Cheshire – the charity’s only restaurant in a prison for women – the fundraising event will follow in the footsteps of Lockie’s sell-out lunch at The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton in March, which raised more than £2,000 for the charity.

Raising vital funds to support the build of future training projects, The Clink Charity is inviting foodies to its Cheshire restaurant to enjoy some of the delicious dishes from the Lockie’s Kitchen menu.

Dishes will be prepared by the prisoners training as chefs, under the guidance of head chef trainer Kerry Rickett, and will be served to guests by the front of house prisoner trainees studying towards gaining food service qualifications.

The vision of Lockie’s Kitchen is to produce deliciously balanced food with the health conscious in mind, a contrast against the numerous unhealthy food outlets currently on the high street.

Its menu is designed using locally sourced ingredients which is reflected in the seasonal freshness and flavour of the food.

The three-course lunch will begin with a non-alcoholic welcome drink before diners delve into fresh soup with crusty bread or grilled king prawns with avocado and mango salad to start.

The main course offers a choice of juicy grilled butterfly chicken breast with sweet potato mash and seasonal vegetables or aubergine, tomato and Parmesan bake with a side of rocket, olives and feta. Lunch will finish with a classic Eton Mess.

Although simple in style, each dish is focused on letting the fresh ingredients speak for themselves.

James Lock, reality TV star and owner of Lockie’s Kitchen, commented on hosting the lunch: “I’m delighted to be working with The Clink Charity again.

"Our first event together at The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton was a great success and I’m delighted we managed to raise important funds on the day.

"Our next ‘Lockie’s Lunch’ at The Clink Restaurant at HMP Styal will hopefully be as successful and I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone there!”

Tickets are £29.95 per person for three courses and a welcome mocktail. The event will continue to serve the charity’s ongoing commitment to reducing reoffending through dedicated hospitality training for those wanting to transform their lives and gain meaningful employment on release.

Guests are asked to arrive at 12pm for a 12.30pm start.
