The fire was well alight when crews attended
FIREFIGHTERS extinguished a woodpile which was well alight in a field in Prestbury Road, Wilmslow, last night.
A fire engine from Wilmslow attended the fire at 9pm, and the crews had to walk to the fire.
"This was a large fire and water was pumped from a nearby pond to fight it," said a Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman.
