ART trail organiser Georgie Johnson is inviting people to see the wealth of local talent being showcased this weekend in Wilmslow.

The fourth Wilmslow Art Trail runs from today, Friday, until Sunday, and features 39 artists exhibiting at 23 venues across the town.

The arts celebration was launched last night at The Old Garages, Wilmslow’s newest lifestyle store.

“The trail brings artists out of their studios so everyone in the community can see the wealth of artistic talent there is within the town,” said Georgie.

“The trail is also good for business because it brings people into the town – with lots of artists exhibiting in shops, businesses and cafes.

“Shops, churches, cafes, artist’s studios, a theatre and Wilmslow Guild will be acting as venues for the artists over the three days.

“You don’t need specialist knowledge about art to enjoy the trail, and there is something for everyone - you can buy anything from a nicely printed card up to a beautiful piece of furniture.

“I would welcome anyone to come along to see what’s on offer - if you are interested in art or just want to see something different come along and enjoy it.

“Almost all the artists exhibiting are local people - the only ones who are exhibiting who don’t live here are people who represent crafts that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to have.”

Many artists new to the trail are taking part, and will be selling their work at locations across the town.

Every location will be highlighted with Art Trail signage and balloons to make each exhibition easy to find.

There is plenty of opportunity to take advantage of all that Wilmslow has to offer on your way round the trail, and many locations will be offering refreshments.

Brochures and maps are already on display around the town or you can download a copy of the map from wilmslowarttrail.co.uk or follow along on your phone.
