ARMED response officers were sent out to Alderley Edge looking for a man with a machine gun – but instead found a teenager with a toy.
Eyewitnesses have reported that officers cordoned off an area around Beech Close at lunchtime today, October 15.
But police didn’t find what they were expecting.
A spokesman at Cheshire Police told the Guardian: “We took a call about a suspicious male in green army gear carrying what looked like a machine gun in the Beech Close area.
“We took an armed response unit to the scene, but it turned out to be a 13-year-old with a Nerf gun.”
