ART Trail organiser Georgie Johnson is already looking forward to Wilmslow’s 2018 artistic showcase following the success of last weekend’s event.

The fourth Wilmslow Art Trail proved to be a big draw, with hundreds of visitors following the trail and visiting the artists taking part in the three-day celebration.

The warm weather provided the perfect opportunity to walk around Wilmslow to take in the many and varied artworks on display, as well as enjoying everything the town has to offer.

For the first time many artists opened their studios, which provided a new and interesting element for those on the trail.

Georgie said: “The chance to see where work is created gives a new dimension to buying art work, and seeing art at such varied locations really adds to the enjoyment of any Art Trail.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to each of the artists for taking part, as well as to all of the visitors who saw, enjoyed and bought art this weekend.”

Every location provided something different, with artist Helen Robinson drawing quite a crowd as she set up her easel in the window of Multiyork. Visitors to the exhibitions at St Bartholomew’s Church were treated to beautiful music as choir practice provided a lovely backdrop to the art on display.

Georgie added: “Visitors were very positive in their feedback on the event, with comments including – ‘I had a brilliant afternoon following the Art Trail - some lovely work on display throughout the town’ and ‘I had a great afternoon at Wilmslow Art Trail, meeting amazingly talented artists and artisans’.

“There are so many artists living and working in the area who do not always exhibit their work in the town.

“The Art Trail is an annual opportunity to see the creativity on our doorstep and to buy or commission a piece of original art - we’re already looking forward to the next one.”
