WORK is due to start over the half-term holiday on a covered outside eating area at Wilmslow High School.
A school spokesman said: “As a school which is full in all year groups, Wilmslow High School has been successful in a bid to Cheshire East Council for additional capital funding to meet the needs of large student numbers.
“Over the summer a project was completed to create two seminar- style classrooms out of existing space within school.
“During the autumn half-term holiday, we will start work on creating a covered external eating area on the yard space in front of High Options.
“This will be a versatile area providing shelter from the wind and rain during the winter months and shade from the sun during the hottest days of the summer months.
“We also hope the design will be regarded as providing an attractive addition to the school’s built environment.
“High Options will remain fully operational during the building work but we will need to amend some of the access points.”
