HOSPICE supporters collected about £1,400 from shoppers in Wilmslow town centre over two days.
The street collection on Friday and Saturday involved 20 volunteers from the East Cheshire Hospice Wilmslow Support Group.
The volunteers collected at three spots, Hoopers department store, Barclays Bank and Waitrose, between 10am and 4pm.
“The event was a great success, and we would like to thank the brave volunteers who stood out in the cold, and the local resident who gave so generously,” said a group spokesman.
“The hospice provides a fantastic service and relies upon local fundraising events such as this.
“It needs £7,500 each day to continue providing its vital service.”
