A 36-year-old man was taken into custody after a 12-hour stand-off between him and the police.
Officers were called to an address in Lacey Green to following concerns for the safety of a man who was alone in his flat.
The suspect was present at the address but refused the police access, making threats to harm himself in the process.
As a result, a stand-off developed with police, which lasted from around 11pm last night until 11am today, Wednesday, April 11, when the suspect surrendered himself.
The man was arrested, unharmed, on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.
