IT was smiles all round for Ganges Indian Cuisine as the restaurant won the services to the community category at the Wiltshire Business Awards on Friday night.

The triumphant Royal Wootton Bassett eatery team were presented the trophy by sponsor BBC Wiltshire at the Venue in Longleat.

Husband and wife, Enam and Jasmin Chowdhury, earned the award for a 'demonstration of sustained activities that help the community'.

Mr Chowdhury said: "This is a double celebration for us because the restaurant has been going for 25 years and me and my wife have been married for 30 years.

"I would like to dedicate this award to my staff and family who have put in so much effort into this and also to all our loyal customers, some of whom have been coming to our restaurant since the beginning."

The popular restaurant edged out second-placed Gooding Accounts and Acting Potential Therapy in third. Busy Books and First City Nursing Group Services Ltd were also nominated.

Sam Gooding of Gooding Accounts added: "I am really chuffed to have got this award. It shows that the work we are doing is being recognised."
