A COMMUNITY cycling group led its first family-friendly ride of 2018 on Saturday, April 21, and is looking to facilitate further rides this summer.
CycleWilmslow, in partnership with Transition Wilmslow, led the group as they set off from the Wilmslow Artisan Market and took in the quieter roads and traffic-free paths to reach Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park.
After refreshments, the cyclists returned to Wilmslow via Morley Green and Lindow Moss.
CycleWilmslow advocates cycling for transport, leisure and health, as well as campaigning for better cycling provisions in Wilmslow, Handforth, Alderley Edge and Styal. The community group are looking to organise more family-friendly rides such as this one throughout 2018.
The group are also working on updating its free cycling map of the area and will be organising basic cycle maintenance courses for residents.
