FIREFIGHTERS received a report of a fire in a field in Handforth yesterday evening.
At around 8.30pm, officers were called to Knowle Park where they discovered a fire that involved tree debris in a manhole.
Firefighters were at the scene for around 45 minutes, where they used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and then used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots in the manhole.
Reports also say that police were in attendance.
