STAFF at Quarry Bank are celebrating the blooming success of its heritage rhododendrons.
The species was planted by the Greg family who built the mill and Robert Hyde Greg, the second owner of the National Trust property in Styal, was a big influence on the displays seen at Quarry Bank today.
He was a keen horticulturalist, as well as mill owner, and travelled the world in search of new plant species for his garden.
Many of these species still survive at Quarry Bank today.
Further information about Quarry Bank’s garden, and those other National Trust gardens across the north west, can be found at nationaltrust.org.uk/lists/gardens-in-the-north-west
