CELEBRITIES and fundraisers from across the north west came together for children’s charity Brainwave's Strictly Summer event.

Ten charity-supporting business people partnered up with Cadman’s Dance School to rehearse and perform show-stopping performances in front of a celebrity judging panel.

Hosted by TV and radio host Mike Toolan at the Mere Golf and Spa resort on Saturday, the event raised vital funds to support children with disabilities and additional needs.

Stars such as TV favourite Gemma Atkinson, Downton Abbey writer and producer Lord Julian Fellowes and Lady Emma Fellowes, Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez and Real Housewives of Cheshire stars Seema Malhotra and Stacey Forsey all came down to show their support and enjoy the charity extravaganza.

Phil Edge, Brainwave chief executive, said: “Strictly Summer was an enormous success for Brainwave and we cannot be more thrilled with the evening.

"This brilliant event will give direct assistance to our therapists in their life-changing work.

“We would like to send a heartfelt thanks to our dedicated dancers who committed so much of their time into training to compete for the Brainwave glitter trophy."
