A CHESHIRE farm has launched its very own gin to celebrate the British countryside.

The Lambing Shed has infused fresh herbs grown on their Knutsford farm as botanicals to create a distinct flavour.

It is a dream come true for director Kathryn Mitchell, daughter of owners Sue and Michael.

She said: “I met wonderful Lizzie, also a farmer’s daughter from Wild Fox Gin, a couple of years ago.

“I was telling her about my dream to create our very own gin.

“She kindly offered to help us develop our own recipe and use their beautifully distillery in Goosnargh to produce our gin.”

The family farm has just been named Local Produce Shop of the Year in the Taste Cheshire Awards 2022.

The Mitchell family opened The Lambing Shed at Moseley Hall Farm on Chelford Road in 2015 to showcase their award-winning home reared beef and lamb.

The team has spent many months concocting their first spirit.

Kathryn said: “We really wanted to create something that not only tastes amazing but also really represents who we are.

'Shepherd's Tipple' is all about celebrating British farming and the British countryside.

“We used botanicals handpicked from the farm, including mint, thyme and rosemary to create this signature style contemporary gin.”

Shepherd’s Tipple is a signature style, contemporary gin with mellow citrus and herbs used when cooking lamb.

“We are so excited to finally be able to share our gin with the world,” she said.

“It’s a project we have been working on since last year so it’s surreal to actually see the finished product on the shelves.

“We think we have created something very special.

“We are so proud and can’t wait for our customers to try it”

The gin is now on sale on the farm shop and will soon be available online.
