AFTER 16 years in Knutsford, jeweller Tara Kirkpatrick still feels 'immense pride' when she sees people wearing her bespoke items.
The 50-year-old began creating handmade jewellery at her King Street store Clarity Contemporary Jewellery, on November 24, 2007.
Now, to celebrate her time in the town, Tara, has released a new celebratory collection 'Waves', which consists of items such as bangles, rings and earrings.
Tara said: “It’s quite bizarre to think about it - on one side it feels like it’s flown by but on another level it feels like its been going on forever.
"It’s really flattering that people come in and buy something you’ve made.
"I’d like to thank everyone for supporting me for 16 years. It’s an honour and a privilege that they keep me going."
Tara, originally from Bolton, shared a studio in Manchester after graduating from the Birmingham City University before moving to Knutsford.
She added: "It was a learning curve when I first arrived in Knutsford.
"Learning what people of Knutsford like compared to what people in the city liked meant that I had to adapt my style a little bit to please the people that came in in Knutsford.
“I suppose because I’m at the bottom of King Street it took me a few years to become established.
"I think that’s the nature of anywhere not just Knutsford, you get shops coming and going but I think once you’ve finally been there for a few years, one thinks ‘they’re a sticker’."
Tara's unique new range is largely the result of her new tooling items, which enabled her to make wavier shapes with ease.
And she hopes her one-off pieces will continue to please Knutsford residents.
