ALDERLEY Edge Hockey Club women's first-team players Jenni Park and Lily Wolstenholme have been selected to represent England U16s again this summer.

In a busy schedule of eight games in 15 days, they will play against Belgium in a three-match series closely followed by the Six Nations Tournament in Bremen, Germany.

As well as figuring with the Alderley Edge first team, they represented the club's under 16s girls' team that reached the England Hockey Board National Club Finals last season.

Alderley Edge head women's coach John Bell said: "We hope this is just the beginning of two very successful international careers.

"The girls are products of our Edge Youth Academy and have worked very hard in training sessions, camps and competitions to gain selection."

Jenni is a sports scholar at Cheadle Hulme School and has gained her place in the under 16s squad a year earlier than normal, playing alongside Lily against Holland in Loosdrecht in April.

Lily attends Stockport Grammar School and was a member of the school's first XI that won the National Schools Championship in a thrilling final at the Olympic Park.

After a busy summer of hockey the girls will return to league action for Alderley Edge.

With a number of new quality players joining the club, sights are firmly set on a big push for promotion.

The club will be running six women's teams and eight men's sides this coming season along with many junior age group teams.
