WILMSLOW'S Millie Turner was an unused substitute as England suffered their second defeat in the UEFA Women's European U19 Championship in Israel but all is not lost yet.

Turner may get another chance to feature when England go into Tuesday's clash with Norway knowing a win may still be enough to book a place in the semi finals and secure a place in the Under 20s World Cup in Papua New Guinea next year.

Although England went ahead after nine minutes, they lost 3-1 to Group B leaders Spain this evening after conceding twice in the last eight minutes and are rooted at the bottom after also feeling the heartbreak of a late 2-1 defeat in their opening game against Germany on Thursday.

But if England beat Norway they will be level with them on points, and will then be relying on Spain beating Germany to stand a chance of progressing with a superior points difference.

Everton Ladies midfielder Turner, a former pupil of Wilmlsow High School, featured off the bench for 22 minutes in the opening game and will hope to get the nod for her 17th England cap in the all-important third and final group game at Ramla Municipal Stadium in Ramla at 6.30pm (local time) in three days' time.
