ALDERLEY Edge Hockey Club's ladies first team are top of North Hockey Women's League Division Two South West on points difference after Saturday's 5-1 home success against Deeside Ramblers.

Edge, who defeated Didsbury Northern 2nds 6-1 in their first game of the season, visit fellow undefeated side Wilmslow at Oakwood Farm on Saturday, push back 1.30pm.

The seconds lost 4-1 at Triton Ladies in Cheshire Women's League Division One, their second defeat in three games this season.

They host Sale Ladies on Saturday, 3pm.

The thirds were 6-0 winners against Triton Ladies seconds at Wilmslow High School, leaving them sixth in Division Two ahead of Saturday's trip to Warrington Ladies.

A first point of the new season was picked up by the fourths in a 1-1 draw at Lymm Ladies thirds in Division Three. They entertain Wilmslow's seconds on Saturday at noon.

Alderley Edge's fifths finished 0-0 at home to Deeside Ramblers' thirds in Division Four ahead of a visit to Lymm Ladies' fourths this Saturday, noon start at Culcheth High School.

The sixths lost 3-1 at home to Golborne Ladies' seconds in Division Five and travel to Runcorn Ladies' seconds on Saturday.

Alderley Edge's men's first team achieved their first league win of the season at home to Whitely Bay and Tynemouth on Saturday in North Hockey Men's League Premier Division.

They won 5-4 but lost 4-1 at Preston the following day in the English Hockey Men's Cup. Edge go to University of Durham's seconds in the league on Saturday.

The men's seconds overhauled Lytham St Anns 3-0 away to get their Division Two West campaign up and running. They are home to University of Liverpool on Saturday, 1.30pm.

Alderley Edge men's thirds, beaten 3-1 by their fourth string a week earlier, hammered Macclesfield's seconds 9-0 in Division Four South.

The fourths, who host Wilmslow's seconds at Kings School on Saturday, 1.30pm, drew 2-2 with Deeside Ramblers' fourths at the weekend.

Edge's sevenths, who host Wilmslow thirds at Fallibroome on Saturday, 3.30pm, made it two league wins from two in Division Seven South East with a 6-0 success at Macclesfield's thirds.
