STYAL Golf Club seniors were in action in the final round of their championship, with Richard Vaal leading them in after a cpo on 68 with Daniel Tuohy.

Medal action for Alderley Edge’s men saw Zak Penney hit unstoppable form as he shot a super 62 to take him home at a canter in Division One.

Michael Davies finished second with 65, with Nigel Featherstone just behind him after shooting 66.

Division Two was much closer as John Kendrick just edged out Geoff Brimble.

The men also played for the President’s Prize, which went to Andy Wells who shot an excellent net score of 63. Nigel Pugh and Barry Lewis both scored 65 to finish just behind.

Edge’s ladies were also in medal action, with Alison Roberts taking home the prize after shooting 70 to finish ahead of Tracy Smith and Celia Berent.

The ladies played a BB Stableford competition as well, with J Ricketts and J Hardcastle finishing clear of the rest on 41 points.

Husband and wife team Roger and Sue Souter, won the final of the Summer Mixed Knockout at Bramall Park Golf Club last weekend.

Their final match against Tim Riordan and Pam Ellison was completed on the 20th hole after the pairs were level after 18.
