A STACK of Wilmslow High School students have qualified for national finals in trampolining.

Six students progress after finishing in podium positions in the individual competitions in the North Championships in Wigan.

And from an unprecedented 10 Wilmslow teams taking part in the team competitions, five of those achieved top-three places to march on to the national finals to be held in Gateshead in March.

This all follows outstanding performances at the North West round of the competition at the back end of 2016.

Forty of the school’s students were involved, training hard under the guidance of Hilary Pemberton and team of coaches in order to register their succecces.

Ben Fazelynia, Tenniel Cowen and Dominic Rowe clinched first, second and third spots in the under 19s boys’ novice category.

In the same age group, Esme Plant was third in the girls’ intermediate competition and Conor Smith was second in the boys’ elite event.

At under 14s level, Alfie Kenworthy bounced into third place in the boys’ novice event, while Mollie Bennett was second in the girls’ novice category.

Under 19s boys’ novice: James Jones, Tenniel Cowen, Dominic Rowe, Ben Fazelynia.

Under 19s girls’ intermediate: Esme Plant, Gracie Davies, Georgia Long, Shauna Greaves.

Under 19s boys’ intermediate: George Holt, Ethan Ford, Sam Falk.

Under 19s boys’ elite: Brendan Smith, Matt Graham, Conor Smith, Jack Colledge.
