MOBBERLEY A remain on course to win a Knutsford and District Amateur Legue double after cruising to victory in their Team Knockout semi-final last week.

Despite giving Brook Street A, a rival in Division One, a 100-point handicap head-start, they still won handsomely after amassing 495.

Steve Flinders’ run of 47 was a highlight in one-sided encounter at Wilmslow Cons.

Morley were a man down for their last-four encounter with Division Two leaders Mobberley C, although Colin Hamer’s 120-point return in the opening frame gave them hope.

However they could not build on a promising start, eventually bowing out by a 99-point margin on aggregate.

Results:

Semi finals, Wednesday (team handicap in brackets): Brook St A (100) 263-495 Mobberley A (scr) at Wilmslow Cons; Morley (140) 402-501 Mobberley C (150) at Mere Parish.

TATTON’S hopes of avoiding relegation from the top-flight received a blow when they lost at home to direct rivals Brook Street A.

Visiting teams were the victors in all four Division One fixtures, including a fine 5-2 success for Wilmslow Cons A at second-placed Shaw Heath.

Alderley Union, who won by the same score at Morley, are now only a point further back in third.

In Division Two, Wilmslow Cons B put behind them the disappointment of losing a derby last time out when they saw off in-form Mobberley D.

They open up a five-point advantage over promotion-rivals Wilmslow RBL, beaten by Mere A, as a result.

Leaders Mobberley C swept aside Brook Street B, leaving them 23 points clear.
