BRUCE Tulley got his hands on the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s Rotary Cup for the sixth time.

The Mobberley man has waited for seven years to add to his tally of victories, and he needed his previous experience to edge a close encounter with Arthur Faux (Alderley Union) at Mere Parish Club.

Two of the frames in his narrow victory were settled on the black before he recaptured a title he won for the first time 1985 on the blue during a decider.

He had seen off clubmate Mark Newall, already a victor in the Redwood Hire Champions Trophy this season, in the last four.

Faux ended the challenge of teammate Dave Whalley, with whom he joined forces to win the Bert Astles Memorial Pairs last month.

Results:

Semi finals (handicap in brackets): Bruce Tulley (Mobberley A) (scr) 2-0 Mark Newall (Mobberley A) (scr); Dave Whalley (Mobberley A) (15) 0-2 Arthur Faux (Alderley Union).

Final: Tulley 2-1 Faux.
