WILMSLOW High School trampolining teams were crowned national champions at the weekend.

Students representing teams in the boys’ elite and novice levels, as well as the girls’ intermediate category, in the under 19s age group are all celebrating a first-place finish at the National Schools’ Trampolining Finals in Gateshead on Saturday.

Having negotiated their way through the North West and North rounds of the competition, the school had high hopes for a strong showing in the finals.

In the under 14s boys’ novice team category, Wilmslow finished in fifth position, while the under 19s boys’ intermediate team placed third.

In the individual competitions, six students recorded top 10 finishes, with Teniel Cowen second, Ben Fazelynia third, Dominic Rowe sixth and Conor Smith, Alfie Kenworthy and Mollie Bennett eighth in their categories.

Coach Hilary Pemberton was delighted with the teams’ performances, remarking on the hard work and dedication the students have shown in training throughout the year.
