TWO Wilmslow High School hockey players are celebrating selection to represent their country.

Tor Hughes from year 13 and Jenni Park from year 12 are in the final 29 for the England under 18s squad.

They have also been selected as part of the final 18 to tour to Holland over Easter.

Park has already represented England at under 18s level but this will be Hughes’ first year in what is a massive achievement for both girls.

Meanwhile, the year seven boys got their first taste of Rugby 7s action at Wirral Grammar School this week in horrible conditions.

It proved to be a tough day for the boys, who started with a win and took a couple of sides close.

In the end a strong St Ambrose were too strong, finishing off Wilmslow in the group stage in what was nevertheless a good experience for the boys.
