A WILMSLOW High School student has gained selection for the England under 17s netball squad.
Josephine Fraser-Thomson, who is in year 10, was successful at trials while representing the North West.
She has been playing netball since primary school, progressing to selection for Cheshire and the North West Regional Performance Academy.
Meanwhile, the school's under 16s girls' football team were defeated in a thrilling contest 3-0 by Poynton in the Cheshire Cup Final staged in Middlewich.
They enjoyed some impressive wins en route, including an 8-0 victory over Eaton Bank and an 11-0 triumph over Fallibroome.
They have, however, manage retain the Macclesfield and District Cup this year.
The boys' under 13s, under 14s and senior team are through to their respective Macclesfield finals.
Hockey teams have also been in finals action.
The girls' under 14s and under 16s sides contested county finals at Chester.
Both teams battled hard in some tense encounters.
The under 14s placed fourth out of a dozen schools, while the under 16s were second out of 12.
