LINDOW Cricket Club second team’s performance was as bright as the sunny weather in their first game of the season away to Bollington.

Eager to prove themselves against the team that finished last term in third place in the league, Lindow were ruthless in securing their first maximum 25-point haul of the 2017 campaign.

Put into bat, Lindow posted an intimidating total of 257 for 6 from their 50 overs.

The undoubted star of the show was Ian Park whose class shone through as he struck an imperious 106 not out, ably supported by Dave Kendrick who hit an entertaining 53.

Bollington were never really placed to threaten when it came to their turn to bat, with Lindow debutant Will Beckley the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 28.

By bowling out their hosts for 133 and securing a 124-run victory, Lindow had laid down an early marker for the rest of the season.
