SHARON Johnstone has been crowned Cheshire Road Runner of the Year for season 2016-17.
It is reward for the dedication and commitment of the 44-year-old Wilmslow Running Club ace from Alderley Edge, who is head of physical education at Pownall Hall School.
"The award is based around running achievements throughout the year across distances of 5k, 5 miles, 10 miles, half marathon and marathon distances," she said.
"My achievements range from 18-minute 5k times to sub-three hour marathon times.
"I run over 45 miles each week, spend time with strength and conditioning training in the gym and swim between five to six miles each week.
"Running gives me a sense of achievement and focus as well as making up a lot of my social life.

"Friends, activities, holidays and events are usually based around running.
"Travelling and holidaying mixed in with a local race is usually on my agenda!
"During the Easter holiday I took part in the Mallorca Half Marathon, while previous holidays have included races in Hong Kong, Spain, Lanzarote as well as numerous events most weekends around England.
"Each season has a new focus and challenge, winter months are cross country based whereas spring and summer months are trail races, road races or anything going!"
