ALDERLEY Edge Cricket Club is hosting a special T20 game featuring some of English cricket’s most iconic names.

Ex-England all-rounder Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff is re-uniting some of the victorious England side from the memorable 2005 Ashes series victory over Australia for the one-off game, as well as other international cricketing legends.

The full teams will be announced in early June, with Flintoff leading a side that includes Ashes winners Michael Vaughan, Steve Harmison, Simon Jones and Geraint Jones in a game against an Alderley Edge Select XI.

The game, which takes place on Thursday, July 13, is in support of the club’s junior cricket section as well as Prostate Cancer UK.

“It’ll be great to get back out on the field with the England lads,” Flintoff said.

“I can’t mention names but some are already putting the practice in. Charity game or not, the competitiveness will be there!

“It promises to be a great day for all involved and we’re pleased to be able to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK along the way.”

Gates open at 1pm, with live entertainment, stalls and an all-day barbecue available before the game gets underway at 4.15pm.

Tickets are available from freddiesashes2020.co.uk, with adult tickets costing £20 and child tickets available for £5.
