ALDERLEY Edge face one of their toughest challenges of the season this weekend.
The reigning ECB Premier League champions and current table toppers visit one of their immediate rivals, Toft, on Saturday, with play starting at noon.
They go there having been helped by the rain.
While wet weather impacted on results of other sides, Edge were able to return to top spot courtesy of a six-wicket home victory over Cheadle at the weekend.
They now have an 11 points advantage.
Cheadle were skittled for 143 at Moss Lane, where Charlie Reid snapped up 4-12.
With rain hovering, Alderley replied with a quickfire 144-4 from 21 overs.
Teenager Ed Fluck led the way with 45, aided by Alan Say, 34, and Richard Wilkinson’s unbeaten 29.
