LINDOW'S batsmen failed to get a foothold in Saturday's draw at mid-table Christleton.

Their slip not only sees them drop to third, five points behind Romiley, but leaves leaders Barrow strengthening their grip on Cheshire County League Division Two with a 41-point advantage.

Lindow, who visit fourth-placed Brooklands this weekend, kept Christleton to 147 for 9 but were 15 runs short in their reply having also lost nine wickets in their 50 overs.

Tim Young (4-26) and Ben Tyler (3-49) did the majority of the damage for the Upcast Lane side with the ball but their highest scoring batsman with 22no was Luke Unsworth, who was 11th in the order.

Jamie Peel (18), Jhangahir Mushtaq (18), Tom Parfett (17), Tyler (16), Young (11no) and Osman Butt (10) also reached double figures.
