ALDERLEY Edge Hockey Club will be holding a dozen one-day camps during the school holidays as part of its ongoing work to attract and engage children in the sport.

The camps are open to members and non-members aged seven to 16 years old and offer an opportunity for children of all ability levels to play, develop core skills, have fun and make new friends.

The camps are run by qualified coaches, led by Alderley Edge Hockey Club head coach and former Wales Ladies head coach Amanda Partington, so also provide younger players with a great opportunity to hone their skills ahead of the start of the season.

Dates of the one-day sessions are: July 24, 25, 31, August 1, 21, 22, 23, 24, 31 and September 1.

A high performance academy will also be held on August 29 and 30 for more experienced players aged between 13 and 18.

For more information or to book a place, contact Kelvin Briggs via kelvinbriggs@btconnect.com or 07825 213205, or log on to aecc.org.uk/hockey-camps.

At the other end of the age range, the club will also be hosting its annual men’s over 40s masters festival between September 1 and 3.
