THERE was a tight finish to the President’s Prize at Wilmslow Golf Club.

A card play-off on 41 points went in favour of Alun Williams as he squared up with Robert Bailey, Robert Bullock and Norman Dooley.

Wilmslow’s men played over two rounds for the Boddington Cup and setting the early pace was David Price with 66 from Tom Donald, 68, and Reg Maddock and Andrew Peck, both 69.

Round two honours went to Phil Wicks with 70, one less than Mike Sherry and Sam Proctor.

The final aggregate needed a card play-off on 140 to give Wicks the trophy, shading out Price with Sam Proctor and Andrew Corner two shots adrift.

Wilmslow ladies played their June stableford and in Division One Michele Marr was out on her own with 41 points from Maureen Nicholson, 38, and Philippa Stewart, 37.

In Division Two Hazel Dooley led in with 36 points from Charlotte Hutchins, 35, and Fiona Woolley and Gillian Sibley, both 33.
